・゚✧ Prologue Teaser

In Ancient times, powerful demons and god-like beings roamed the Earth. The Great Arctic Fox Demon of the North fell in love with one such god-like being: the Maiden of the Moon Shrine. Their love was not only powerful- but forbidden. Many of the other demons waged war on them out of jealousy, and the rest of the shrines turned their backs on the outcast Maiden- forsaking her shrine, calling them heretics. However, none of that mattered because together- the Maiden and Demon were unbeatable and could withstand the constant attacks. Despite this, they still feared for the future of the children the Maiden bore.

Giving birth would immeasurably weaken the Maiden, draining her life and power to provide the spark of life for both—a young fox Demon named Sada and a Goddess named Yuki. Their birth caused a shift in the flow of the world's magic that every being on the planet, and even some beyond, could sense. It caused an immense upset in the current ruling powers of the world. The Great Demon mourned his fading love's life by combining the remaining of their powers to cloak the moon shrine in an impenetrable and eternal winter- to protect the lineage of their love. The villagers of the Moon Shrine flourished and raised the children as proper heads of the Moon Shrine.

They lived happily, forgetting about the rest of the world. But the rest of the world had not forgotten them. Many became obsessed with dispelling the eternal winter storm, and some built entire armies and kingdoms to conquer the mysterious land of the North and prove their prowess over the others. They don't know how long their peace lasted. The icy embrace of the forbidden lovers brought a sky of permanent night. The beings of the Moon Shrine lived constantly under the watchful eye of the beautiful lunar entity and its endless ensemble of dancing stars.

The Moon had not been ignoring them the entire time. No, they were instead touched by the passion of the forbidden lovers and watched with joy as their children thrived. Feeling a fondness for the tiny beings as they often watched and praised the beauty and elegance of the Moon. Yuki and Sada were powerful but raised in a period of peace, and they, along with the people of the shrine, grew to be inexperienced in "true" combat. The celestial bodies of the Earth's Solar System will never forget the tragic events this led to.

Sada was practically a complete embodiment of their father's demonic heritage- amplified by their mother's godly powers. Yuki's otherworldly beauty was said to have earned her the ire of the Goddess'. Their love for each other as siblings saw no difference in their forms; they were inseparable. It was a day like any other- the siblings lay, gazing at the stars dancing across the sky through the sacred lunar viewing room.

The Moon was starting to enter the opening when the constant lull of the winter storm suddenly stopped, and a deadly silence engulfed the shrine before the first scream broke the silence.

Allied armies of Demons and Gods tore through the defenses of the shrine and the unprepared citizens. They reached the heart of the Moon Shrine, the viewing room, swiftly after their attack- determined to destroy the entirety of this once unreachable enemy.

Sada defended her beloved Yuki from a seemingly endless river of enemies. The Moon watched in horror, now perfectly above the viewing opening, as one enemy skulked silently behind the duo. Time seemed to stand still once Yuki's scream ripped through the struggle of the fighting. The last thing Sada saw was Yuki falling bloodily to her knees.

Sada rushed to Yuki's side, only to hear Yuki's last words softly murmured, "Let's Stargaze together again..." The sudden limpness in Yuki's body triggered a monstrous change in Sada. As Sada flew into a blind rage, a heart-wrenching wail tore across the globe. The power of her rage ripped through the surrounding land and mountains to the tectonic plates, separating the land of the Moon Shrine from the rest of the continents.

Thus, what humans today call the North Pole was created.

The Heartbroken demon tore through the enemies still on the shrine's land with no care for her injuries sustained. The Moon had been following their shrine but was now starting to exit the opening of the inner shrine. Sada dragged herself into the room and stopped at Yuki's side. In the dim light of the last rays of the Moon, Sada silently held Yuki as she always had held Sada in the past, and they both lay beneath the night sky once more. Yuki's soul was still lingering in the remaining moonlight—as Sada breathed her last breaths, their souls united to depart the realm of the living together.

The Moon could not bear the feelings this stirred within it. From a beautiful and tragic beginning to an even more tragic end, the Moon could only witness the rise and fall of the Ichiban family and legacy- a legacy lost to the eternal frozen land of the North. The stars mourned with the Moon. At the peak of their despair, a miracle blossomed. Through the wishes of the celestial beings that once danced for Sada and Yuki- the siblings' fractured souls were salvaged before they completely crossed into the realm of death. The siblings' wish to stargaze together allowed the celestial transformation as Sada's and Yuki's souls merged and combined with vast cosmic energies... ・゚✧

??????? awoke with a great deal of confusion. She felt weird in her form, yet she had never felt more herself. Taking in her surroundings, she realized she was in a crystalline shrine, but beyond that, the view was strikingly different. Looking up, ??????? could see vastly more stars than they could recall ever seeing at once- and a peculiar new addition. Earth. As she took in her form, she felt tears falling alongside vague memories of who she was. Sada...and Yuki. Both at once and yet neither. ??????? gazed back to the blue marble and could feel how much time had passed since they walked the planet... ✧・゚
